Through Counseling Services

A safe place to land as you move through life’s challenges.

“I place the highest value on our universal human connection and build from the ground up. All aspects of you are welcomed and celebrated.

However you ended up here, I’m glad you’re here.

Hi, I am Allison Kuhr // Pronouns: she/her

I am a licensed professional clinical counselor based in Northwest Ohio. I am passionate about creating a space to help people sit with and sort through life’s challenges in a way that feels authentic and supportive but most of all, feels guided to help you reach your fullest potential.

I have always been a helper. For me, I feel most fulfilled when I am serving others.

I always share that I have spent many hours on both sides of the therapy couch, which inspired my journey to become a mental health therapist. I think it is important to acknowledge that I have experience as both client and therapist because it speaks to how my approach may feel different: we come together and work collaboratively to help create a healthy whole.

There is no hierarchy here. My agenda is your agenda and we work at your speed. You are the expert in your own experience. You are in the driver’s seat. My role is to come alongside you and offer specialized knowledge and reflection to help you get to where you want to be.

However you ended up here, I am glad you’re here. Let’s schedule a time to talk about how my services can be supportive to your journey.

There’s never a wrong time to go to therapy.
Learn more about my services:

  • I offer counseling services to assist with managing a variety of mental health needs. I am currently serving individuals 16 and up.

I am here to walk alongside you during your most challenging moments and offer reflection, support, and skills to help you better manage your mental health. And most importantly, we do it together.

  • As a member of the LGBTQ+ population myself, I know how important it can be to know if your provider is competent in issues impacting our community. Please know that all aspects of you are welcomed and celebrated. This is a safe space to bring your whole self in order to begin living a full life.

  • Trauma shows up in all of our lives through no fault of our own. There are times where we are able to adapt though our adverse experiences using our own learned skills and other times where we need more support to help manage the fallout.

My trauma-informed, guided approach to therapy is exceptionally useful when working with clients who have experienced trauma. I am comfortable working with whatever you have been through in a way that helps you feel empowered and validated.
